Gordon Strong Receives BJCP Pat Baker Lifetime Achievement Award

The BJCP awarded President Emeritus Gordon Strong the organization’s third-ever Pat Baker Lifetime Achievement Award during the National Homebrew Conference in Pittsburgh in June 2022. The Pat Baker Award is the BJCP’s highest honor, established in 2017 to honor Pat Baker himself, who was a driving force in the founding of the BJCP in the 1980s. Current BJCP President Dennis Mitchell presented Gordon with the award at the annual members meeting.

“Without a doubt, there are very few members in the history of the BJCP who have contributed as much as Gordon has over a long period of time,” Mitchell said. “The BJCP would not be the successful and well-respected organization it is today without Gordon’s leadership and dedication in over 15 years as President with a myriad of other roles. He remains one of the most hard-working and prolific BJCP judges, frequently traveling the world to judge, proctor, assess styles, and further the BJCP mission.”

Please join the BJCP in congratulating Gordon on this honor and thanking him for his continued service to the organization.
