Communications Director and Election Committee Chairman Mike Dixon informed the board of his intent to resign from the election committee so he can run for office, and also to step down from the communication director position at the end of May. He recommended Dennis Mitchell as his replacement for both positions.
Dennis has been serving as assistant in these positions already, and has taken on an increasing responsibility. Mike has the elections set up properly to run this year on schedule. There will be three people on the election committee after Mike’s resignation, so there is no need to add an additional person to replace him. But the committee does need a chairman.
President Gordon Strong made a motion to appoint Dennis Mitchell as chairman of the election committee effective immediately, and to appoint Dennis Mitchell the new communications director as of 1 June 2017.
