What happens to judges who are lapsed or expired, or age out of the Affiliated status?

First, we never flush judge records; we need those to generate statistical and historical data. So the ID and points will always be there. The Affiliated status is used for known judges who are not Active; this keeps certain membership benefits from being available to the judge, but does not flush the record. Old scores won’t be used, but records of judging will still be present, and a new ID won’t be necessary.  The judge needs to start over from an exam standpoint, but past records are still kept.  For active judges who lapse, simply showing activity in the program is good enough to reactivate.  No retesting is required.  We have the Lapsed status simply as a way to keep people who seem to be inactive from continuing to receive competition invitations and other normal BJCP business.
