From the President's Desk

Hello Judges,

I hope your third quarter of 2025 was a good one.  Mine was filled with some great highs and some not so great lows.

I was fortunate to go to several great competitions and see quite a few of you – I enjoy catching up and getting to judge with different people. 

This year the BJCP celebrates its 40th Anniversary, and with the launch of the Bravo database, we are poised to leave our old system behind and head into our future! Thanks so much to our IT crew: Andrés Torres Marroquín, Hirendu Vaishnav, and Tony Greening.  And thanks to all of the BJCP staff from the various directorates that helped with ideas, feedback, and testing of the system along the way.

I thank all of you for being part of the BJCP and for supporting competitions across the world.

Wishing you a fantastic Q4 of 2025!

Recent Board Actions

• The board voted to create the position of Assistant Finance Director and appointed Gordon Mauger to this role (initiative by Brian Cooper).

• The addition of a translation fee for exams not held in English. This is optional and should be decided by the examinees.
